The self-hosted column is not a crippled tier. It is the same code with the same features, run on a box you control. A single four-core machine with 8 GB of memory handles a small fleet.

Field operations already work with no cloud at all. A drone and a ground station pair over the radio link and Mission Control runs in a browser on the same network. The paid tiers exist for teams who want fleet dashboards over the internet, or who want us in the room while they take a product to production. Neither is a prerequisite for flying.

Questions we actually get
Is any feature locked behind a paid tier?
No. There is one build of Mission Control and one build of each agent. Nothing checks a licence key, and there is no telemetry that reports your usage back to us. If a feature exists, you have it.
Can I use ADOS in a commercial product?
Yes. It is GPLv3, so you can sell hardware and services built on it. The obligation GPLv3 creates is that you make your modifications to the GPLv3 code available to the people you distribute it to.
Does my extension have to be open source?
An extension links against the agent SDK, so the safe assumption is yes, and every first-party extension is GPLv3 or later. If you are building something you cannot open, talk to us before you write it rather than after.
What does the hosted fleet cloud actually cost?
It is quoted per engagement rather than published, because fleet sizes and retention requirements vary enormously. Self-hosting the same stack costs nothing and is a legitimate answer.
Do I need a paid tier to get support?
No. Bug reports go to the GitHub issue tracker on the affected repository and questions go to Discord, for everyone. A paid tier buys a response commitment and engineering time, not access.
